Visitor

2016     11’24”

A short film which weaves a story of personal loss with a growing fascination for the night sky. The film takes the form of a textural essay blending documentary and experimental approaches to create an experience that is part meditation, part enquiry. Drawing from conversations with stargazers, astronomers, and close family and friends, Visitor asks what does it mean to be in the dark. Visitor was shot on location in 2016 in Galloway Forest Dark Sky Park in South West Scotland and in the filmmaker's hometown in North East England.
