Latymer Projects was an artist-led project space in West London co-ran by collective group+work (Emily Ballard, Natalie Marr and Alistair Ashe) in a former nursery at 154 Freston Road, West London. Latymer Projects supported recent graduates, emerging and locally-based artists and those returning to practice after a break. The space operated under the common values of do-it-together, shared responsibility, democracy and equality within a creative and supportive community.
Between 2012-2013, Latymer Projects hosted a diverse programme of events and projects including exhibitions, workshops, research residencies, critical feedback and practice development sessions, film screenings and reading groups, with a commitment to shared learning, knowledge exchange and investigating alternative methods for art production. In collaboration with local residents and community groups, Latymer Projects also ran the Latymer Mapping Project, which, through a series of self-guided walks, site visits and workshops, produced a fold-out alternative map of the local area, outlining social and radical histories relating to housing and redevelopment from the 1950s to present day.
