Our Dark Nights is a creative research project by artist and researchers Natalie Marr and Mirjami Lantto Klein that will create a brand new audiovisual archive for the Galloway Forest Dark Sky Park that celebrates our relationships with naturally dark and starlit landscapes and fosters stronger connections to nocturnal environments.
Our goal is to make an archive that is produced with communities of interest and place in and around the Galloway Forest Dark Sky Park, which will then be installed at a local venue and made accessible to anyone interested in learning about dark sky landscapes. It will be an important community resource for local residents and stakeholders, but will also have resonance beyond the Dark Sky Park, being of interest to researchers, artists, planners, environmental practitioners and anyone who wishes to learn more about our nocturnal world and reconnect with the wonder and richness of the night-time.
This project has been made possible with funding from the Hope Scott Trust and a Visual Artist and Craft Maker Award bursary (Creative Scotland).
